The brief:
Sweet Projects carried out the completed design and construction for the refurbishment of the second floor and zone D of first floor to create a dynamic office space. Works to third floor plantroom M and E systems to the refurbishment.
Works comprised stripping out of internal partitions and reprovision with new walls and doors; New HVAC and modifications to existing HVAC; LV distribution, small power, lighting, fire alarm and security systems; new data equipment room and data networks; new ceilings; replacement of damaged windows; decorations and furniture fit out.
These works have created a functional and comfortable workspace that will meet the needs of the occupants for years to come.
Key challenges:
- Working in live environment
- Fire compartmentation above existing stairwell, plantroom and toilet areas
- Existing staff to consider, with reduced access opportunities
The solution:
- Category B design and refurbishment of offices, to support specialist technical staff migration and continuation of business as usual
- Staggered and prioritised just-in-time deliveries
- Select group of specialist contractors and Sweet Projects team for security clearance
