The brief:
Sweet Projects carried out the following works situated in the city of London, the 1.95-hectare site previously contained Renault and Nissan showrooms, vehicle forecourts and maintenance areas, as well as internal waste oil storage facilities. For the first phase of the project, all buildings and structures, including the retaining wall, were demolished.
To prepare for the construction of two new hyperscale data centres, along with an office building and substation, major utility diversions and disconnections were necessary. Ground remediation and site re-levelling were also carried out as part of the enabling work. During this time, Sweet Projects managed the design from RIBA stage 2 to stage 4, in tandem with our construction activities. Throughout the project, health and safety was a top priority. The project team implemented strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure the workers and surrounding community were protected.
