Manley Hopkinson

Manley joined the board of Sweet Projects as Director of People and Performance in summer 2022, bringing with him a wealth of leadership, teamwork and transformational private- and public-sector experience.
Manley’s background in leadership was obtained through a mix of practical and academic experiences; as an Officer in the Royal Navy and the Royal Hong Kong Police, a skipper in the BT Global Challenge (the world’s toughest yacht race) and as part of the winning team skiing to the Magnetic North Pole in the inaugural 2003 race.
Manley has held SLT-level accountable leadership roles as the Director of People & Performance for Hewlett Packard Defence & Security UK, Ark Data Centres – who achieved the Investors in People Platinum award – and The Atlas Consortium.
In 2014, Manley published his acclaimed book Compassionate Leadership and he launched the Compassionate Leadership Academy in 2019, providing deliberately-affordable, ILM-accredited, online leadership and personal development courses and inclusive L&D programmes. The Academy is also CPD accredited and available in 4 languages across 6 continents!
Manley is also a sought after keynote speaker, a Fellow of The Royal Geographical Society and The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and was a Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company for five years.
