Lee Grainger

Project Director

Lee Grainger - Project Director at Sweet Projects

Lee is a highly-experienced construction director, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, with more than 30 years’ experience in directing whole life-cycle support for highly-complex, multi-stakeholder projects, including former senior roles at ISG, Kier, Sisk Group and Creagh Concrete Products.

His enthusiasm, and proactive approach, as well as tacit understanding of ‘on-the-ground’ construction issues (he holds a CSCS Black card, detailed knowledge of DFE, MOJ & SCF framework processes, and is a proponent of mental health at work), made him the perfect candidate to join Sweet Projects’ senior leadership team in August 2022.

Lee is responsible for three key areas of projects, among other roles: stakeholder management (key liaison for all local authority, stakeholder, neighbour, partner, onsite delivery staff and trade contractors); operational lead (empowering teams with the requisite training, skills, equipment and motivation to carry out their roles); and client liaison (liaising frequently with the client, be onsite daily as point of contact and to resolve issues promptly and effectively).

Past projects that Lee is particularly proud of are: a £280m new-build HM Prison Featherstone near Wolverhampton; the £80m, 13,000-seater Leeds Arena; a £32m new-build Health & Social Sciences Faculty building at Bournemouth University; a c.£450m new film studios development in Hertfordshire; and growing Creagh’s Structures division from c.£30 million to £100 million per annum.
