Ian Dovey

Ian is our Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) Director, a critical role which he brings almost forty years of construction experience to.

Ian has had an immediate impact since joining the business in March 2022, championing sustained improvement across the business. A Member of the Chartered Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, and with multiple NEBOSH Diplomas, Ian’s never content with standing still in his field, pushing colleagues and partners alike to be even better with processes, safety and sustainability.

This has included in-depth HSQE auditing and standard-setting, inspection and incident management, driver risk management, engagement and collaboration with client staff, alliance partners and contractors, and enhancing training and development of colleagues around HSQE initiatives.

Ian gained his early experience in site management, working on a range of hospital, commercial and industrial construction projects before making the move into health and safety. In his career, he has headed up HSQE teams nationally, in senior roles including ISG and Kier (four years as Head of SHE), with contractors operating an annual turnover of c.£1.7bn
