Chris Nichols

Chris was appointed Director of Business Strategy in March 2023, after initially joining Gareth to launch Sweet Projects in early 2020, as commercial director.
Responsible for ensuring the business continues its focused trajectory of significant development and expansion – increasing from £60m to £100m turnover in 2022/23 alone – Chris leads a team constantly reviewing and implementing change and improvements to the strategy, whilst maintaining a culture core to Sweet Projects’ guiding principles.
Chris has more than 20 years’ experience as a commercial director across national and European businesses, including M+W Group and Bouygues Construction, and has specialised in high-tech engineering turnkey contracts in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical and nuclear sectors. He has worked on multi billion-pound European specialist projects, negotiated and executed under NEC, FIDIC and bespoke contracts, such as an OE contract for a new €7.5bn nuclear plant in Finland.
Chris has been a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for 26 years, is an Associate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineers and an Accredited Project Manager under NEC/ECC.
