challenges in turnkey construction

We are proud to be a Planet Mark Certified Business, marking an important step in our journey towards net zero at a critical time for our planet.

Becoming Planet Mark Certified confirms our commitment to measuring our environmental impact accurately, because we cannot manage what we do not measure. Through Planet Mark’s Business Certification (Advanced) membership package, we are measuring up to a full carbon footprint, allowing us to tackle more complex emissions across our operations and value chain.

With a complete understanding of our carbon footprint, we can establish clear net zero targets and work towards achieving at least a 90% reduction across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions*, in line with Planet Mark’s Net Zero Certification Programme.

As part of our certification, we are also committed to delivering an annual 5% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and to improving our data quality score from year three of certification onwards.

We look forward to sharing future milestones as we progress through Planet Mark’s Net Zero Certification Programme. You can view our latest Planet Mark certificate for the 2024 reporting year to learn more about our measurement journey.

  • Scope 1 emissions are produced directly by activities owned or controlled by the company, such as fuel used in gas boilers and company vehicles.
  • Scope 2 emissions are produced indirectly through the purchase of energy, such as electricity.
  • Scope 3 emissions occur within a company’s value chain and include categories such as business travel, waste and the procurement of goods and services.

Our Sustainability Journey

At Sweet Projects, sustainability is embedded into the way we design, construct and manage the specialist environments we deliver. As a business operating across the data, defence and energy sectors, we recognise our responsibility to reduce environmental impact, support our communities and help shape a more sustainable construction industry.

Our sustainability approach combines practical action, innovation and long-term accountability. Working alongside expert partners, we are developing a comprehensive net zero strategy focused on improving operational efficiency and supporting more sustainable construction practices across our projects and supply chain.

Alongside carbon reduction initiatives, we are committed to promoting biodiversity gain, supporting circular economy principles, minimising waste and investing in the wellbeing of our people and communities. From low-carbon construction methods and energy-efficient project delivery to charitable initiatives and community partnerships, we are focused on creating a positive and lasting impact beyond the buildings we deliver.

We know that achieving net zero is an ongoing journey, and while there is still more to do, we remain committed to continuous improvement, transparency and measurable progress as we work towards a more sustainable future.
