Bob Tarrant CB, a retired senior Royal Navy commander with over three decades of service, has joined the Sweet Projects board as non-executive director.
Bob brings with him unrivalled experience of large, complex military and diplomatic operations. He has held command at every rank from Lieutenant Commander to Rear Admiral, working with partners across Europe, the US, the Middle East, Africa and Antarctica.
In his last active role as Commander Operations (2015-2017), Bob exercised command of all fleet units, and was responsible for the delivery of the Royal Navy’s operational risks and outputs. His service was recognised with the award of Companion of the Bath (CB) in 2016.
In 1982 Bob saw active service in the Falklands, and has held roles as Director of the Naval Staff (de facto strategy director for the Royal Navy), UK Commander of the NATO Higher Readiness Force (Maritime), Operational Commander of the EU Naval Force in Somalia and has worked in senior roles in a number of multi-national coalitions.
