Inspiring the next generation of construction professionals: a team from Sweet Projects recently visited Langley Grammar School, Berkshire, for their Career Speed Networking event.
At the event, students sat down with colleagues from across our business and had in-depth, small group discussions about their careers and backgrounds.
“It was great to speak to so many bright and receptive young adults,” said Tezeta Shimelis, our Sustainability and Net Zero Lead, “They were engaged, attentive, and asked insightful questions.”
Abbie Holmes, Kiran Kaur and Tezeta had 20-25-minute conversations with the students about future careers in the built environment. Specifically, they discussed opportunities in Civil Engineering, ICT Project Management, and Data Analytics. “We discussed Sweet Projects’ business purpose with the students, and explored the various career opportunities and educational paths available in the construction industry.” “The students gave positive feedback about the participants and were encouraged to explore their options further,” added Tezeta.
